Article Abstract:

Lighting effects in the leisure industry have been transformed with the move from analogue to digital in the late 1980s. New technology goes even further, with the moving yoke system, which has become more affordable. The latest sound and light technology involves the use of the Internet. There is a requirement for fast access to cues through automated mixing desks, and the major issue is control. Computerized sound systems have become more flexible, enabling the system designer to choose layouts of mixers and equalizers on screen.

Article Abstract:

Leisure centres should make use of improved lighting technology to enhance facilities. Quality lighting will improve attendance and establish the facility's reputation. High frequency lighting is more comfortable for clients than mains frequency lighting and causes fewer headaches. However, sports have differing lighting needs and a range of lamps may be applicable. Lighting colour can enhance enjoyment by suggesting a warm or cool environment.
