Arts centre under fire

Eatertainment Inc has filed a case against Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, for breach of contract, misrepresentation and lost profits for not complying with the terms of a licensing agreement. Eatertainment claims the art center failed to establish programs promised when it assumed full operations. The forer restaurant and catering service withheld $487,206 in licensing fees, while the Centre retaliated by denying Eatertainment $187,000 in foodservice receipts.

Rebels with a cause

Article Abstract:

Magnotta Winery, based in Vaughan, Ontario, earned a reputation of rebels with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) by bypassing LCBO's distribution system. As the third-largest winery in Ontario, Magnotta distributes its products directly to consumers and licensees from its retail branches. The winery has also expanded with a brewery and facilities for vodka, gin and grappa.
