Most all-inclusive tourist properties in the Caribbean are still to be found on St Lucia and Jamaica, but similar developments are now taking place elsewhere in the Caribbean and the Bahamas. Jamaican-based Sandals is soon to open Sandals Royal Bahamian on Nassau, for example, while Clubs International is to open the four-star Club La Playa in the Dominican Republic in summer 1996. Club Mediterranee is present on Eleuthera, San Salvador and Paradise Island, and plans to open a casino at Columbus Island on San Salvador in Jan 1997.

The Thai resorts of Hua Hin and Cha-Am offer a variety of championship standard golf courses, and according to managing director of Hua Hin Golf Tours, the resort is expected to become the leading golfing destination in South East Asia. Five championship standard courses are located only 30 minutes away from Hua Hin, with two more slightly further afield, and three currently being built.

There are resorts to appeal to visitors from all types of backgrounds on Cyprus. Some are lively, attracting mainly younger visitors, while others are more traditional. Limassol remains the largest tourist area, with the resort offering a wide range of accommodation. Paphos is popular with older visitors and with Cypriots, while Ayia Napia offers most in terms of entertainment.
