New concepts at UK theme parks include Pendragon's Plunge at the Camelot Theme park in Chorley, and two new exhibitions at Cornwall's Exploratorium. The Millennium Coaster, a new rollercoaster at the Magical World of Fantasy Island, will be opened during 1999, and Legoland Windsor is spending 3.5 million pounds sterling on new developments. Other new concepts include the new Space Shot ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and the development of an 11 million pounds sterling holiday village at Lightwater Valley in Ripon. Zoos and wildlife parks have also invested in new animal enclosures and other animal themed concepts.

UK theme parks are offering additional attractions in 1996. Alton Towers has opened a hotel as part of a 20 million pounds sterling enhancement budget. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is spending 2 million pounds sterling in revamps as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations. Among other parks investing in new attractions are Chessington World of Adventures, Drayton Manor, Dreamland, Fantasy Island, Flambards Village Theme Park, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, Lightwater Valley Theme Park and Thorpe Park.
