Options expand loading data applications

Article Abstract:

Various software packages have been developed for loading shipboard personal computers to optimize cargo planning and stowage. The software also provide for optional modules covering damage stability or specific ship types. Kockumation AB's Loadmaster system, a software with ship type and owner specified-modules, can run programs on longitudinal strength, dynamic stability calculation, direct calculation of damage stability, optimum trim and an on-line program that interfaces tank gauging and monitoring systems. Schiffko, on the other hand, has developed a terminal stowage program while Intering has ISTS which compute for immediate cargo adjustments.
