Hamburg, Germany, will be the site of an exhibition of marine equipment and machinery on Oct. 1-5, 1996. Around 1,000 exhibitors are expected to participate and display their wares to an estimated 35,000 visitors. Some of the companies expected to participate are Rolls Royce which will be showing a prototype of its new gas turbine engine system, Reintjes which will display its propulsion package and Schelde Gears which will introduce its new gearbox.

MAN B and W's production facility in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the core of the company's operations. The facility, which occupies a total of 34,700 square-meter space, employs about 1000 workers, including 100 in the research and development (R&D) section. According to reports, the company's R&D section in Copenhagen has been working with Statoil experts for the development of a low-speed engine run by volatile organic compounds.
