Bright future for gas turbines

Article Abstract:

The two major players viz., GE and Rolls-Royce (RR) who are launching new models with improved features operated the gas turbine market. RR was developing two models, viz., MT30 and WR-21, where MT30 has a novel gas carrier propulsion system that would be ideal for cruise ships and fast ferries, which has replaced two conventional boost turbines and WR-21 has offered operators lower installed system and can deliver 27% reduction in fuel burn.

Estuary Ro-Ro vessel - a novel concept

The launch of an estuary Ro-Ro vessel called Waterways that will be transporting new cars is discussed. The design of the ship with regards to the bridge and the steering is presented.
