Time to upgrade

Article Abstract:

Container ship owners have proceeded to order new ships, expand their services and introduce new routes despite a downturn in trading and continuing, poor freight rates. For instance, Evergreen Group has placed an order for five 5,364-TEU U-class container ships with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and intends to continue replacing its older vessels with new ships. Norasia Lines, meanwhile, will use its new class of 1,400-TEU vessels for a new Asia-Pacific North West service.
