Article Abstract:
Vulnerability Assessments team at Los Alamos National Laboratory, discusses the techniques used to optimize security, which might be useful for optimizing safety. There are three ways to improve security: security surveys, risk assessment, and vulnerability assessments. It is concluded that safety vulnerability assessment can potentially provide new insights, a fresh and vivid perspective on safety hazards, and increase safety awareness.

In the light of the social and economic costs resulting from workplace accidents, it is critical to understand the events preceding work-related injuries, as well as the organizational factors that affect an individual's safety behavior at work. Important organizational factors, in addition to job design and engineering systems identifying the causes of workplace accidents, are socialization, and the need to portray a positive range.

Every year about 200,000 children suffer significant injuries related to the use of playground equipment, and 70%of the injuries are results of falls, which are associated with the use of the "climbers". The history of climber research and climber standards are reviewed and recommendations for improved standards in this area based on the ergonomics of the users, children are presented.
