A strategic approach to procurement planning

Article Abstract:

Strategic planning includes environmental factors both in supply input and market output. Environmental factors are monitored, and strategic impacts and possible consequences are determined and rated as to probability. Criticality of environmental factors is determined by range of strategic resources affected, amount of resources required to use an opportunity or offset a negative impact, and long-term consequences, such as situations difficult to reverse.
