Olympic marathon runner Kardong recalls his ill-fated race at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada, where he narrowly missed earning a bronze medal; a memory that haunted him for years. Kardong made a trip to Montreal in the fall of 1995 in an effort to erase the bitter memory from his mind.
