Tristan Jones unveiled

Article Abstract:

Tristan Jones was probably the most successful sailing writer of the twentieth century. Most of his fans suspected he stretched the truth a bit in his tales, but a new biography by Anthony Dalton, reveals that in fact truth had little bearing in his writing because he firmly believed that for him the way to success as an author was in writing tales of adventure based on his experiences rather than his actual experiences.

Herbert, who wrote under the pen name of Frank Forester, was the first outdoor writer in America. He wrote books, instructional materials and magazine articles. His most popular book was 'The Warwick Woodlands.' Herbert was exiled to America for reasons that are unclear.
