The Florida Panthers, after acquiring goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck in the expansion draft, have been a surprisingly competitive team, falling just short of winning the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals. Vanbiesbrouck has waited for years for a championship, and believes the Panthers can win the Cup in 1997.
