Article Abstract:

A sailor shares his experience of surviving an afternoon sail with his family. It is suggested that one should always check fuel supply even when it is not needed, and consider filling it if one plan's to sail very far and carry a range of clothing for all weather eventualities.

A personal account of serving aboard a replica of Captain Cook's sailing ship "Endeavour" is presented. The highlights of the voyage included learning to go aloft to set the square sails and becoming part of a skilled sailing team.
