The virtues of vitamin E: new research trumpets antioxidant's benefits

Article Abstract:

Vitamin E is considered to be a factor in reducing atherosclerosis. Twelve men with normal health were given 800 units daily for 12 weeks. Their LDL cholesterol oxidation process was reduced by 50%. Research was done at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that a diet high in magnesium may help reduce the risk of asthma. Foods rich in magnesium include wheat bran, wheat germ, whole wheat grains and dark green vegetables. The intake of 400 milligrams of magnesium each day is recommended.

Burn off the holiday fat

Article Abstract:

Smokers tend to relax after a satisfying meal by lighting up cigarettes and allowing those extra calories to set in. It is healthier to take a relaxing walk after the meal to increase the metabolic rate for calorie burning.
