The prevalence of reversible airway obstruction in professional football players
Article Abstract:
This study used spirometry and pulmonary function testing to examine the prevalence of undiagnosed asthma, or reversible airway obstruction, in Canadian Football League players. Results indicate that the majority of tested players suffered from a significant reversible airway obstruction and experienced improved athletic performance after receiving treatment.

Maturity status of youth football players: A noninvasive estimate
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to estimate the biological maturity status of youth football players 9-14 year old using a noninvasive method and to compare the body size of players of constrasting status. Conclusions reveal that percentage of predicted mature height attained at a given age appears to be a reasonable indicator of maturity status.

Recurrent concussion and risk of depression in retired professional football players
Article Abstract:
The aim of this study was to examine the association between an earlier head injury and the likelihood of depression among retired football players. Results found that players who had earlier concussions had an increased risk of depression.
