An experienced cruiser noted the importance of anchoring safely after an experience in sailing with his wife aboard Wisp, a 43-foot cutter. They have realized that anchoring safely and properly is a must because capes and points of land can be dangerous as they can turn the seas choppy and disturbed.

A sailor related how he was able to survive a strong weather condition while sailing with his son aboard Wolfpup, his 17-foot centerboard microcruiser. He realized the importance of checking the weather condition twice, adequate reefing gear, sea anchor and being prepared for windy conditions.
