Giamatti fantasies

A. Bartlett Giamatti died in Sep 1989, after serving as baseball commissioner for only five months, but some believe that baseball would be operating much more smoothly if he had lived. Giamatti, a former president of Yale University, had leadership qualities many admired.

Some of the best catchers in baseball are Latinos. Four Latino catchers, Tony Pena, Benito Santiago, Sandy Alomar Jr and Ivan Rodriguez, are already starters. Other rising stars include Carlos Hernandez, Carlos Delgado, Javier Lopez and Raul Santana.
