Running regular errands through cycling is an effective training tool to develop speed needed for bike racing. Other techniques for such application include incorporating intervals while travelling, improving hill climbing, training for time trials, sprinting for road signs and doing weight training.

Three training regimens for different types of cyclists and goals are presented. The programs, which varies in their levels of intensity, allows the cyclist to concentrate on a specific aspect of his training goal instead of overall fitness.
