A sailor describes his journey through an archipelago of 74 islands off the Queensland coast of Australia. Many of the islands are unpopulated and have an unspoiled beauty. Highlights of the trip include sighting 2,000 year old aboriginal drawings and a float plane ride over the Great Barrier Reef.

STRANDED OFF CHATAM

Article Abstract:

A woman describes how her boat became stranded in the Gulf of Maine while sailing from Nantucket, MA, to Penobscot Bay, ME. The boat tipped to one side after hitting sand, but did not take on water. The boat managed to get free from the sand and resume sailing.
