A native Hawaiian of Polynesian descent describes an ocean voyage from the Marquesas islands to Hawaii. He and other Polynesians devoted to revitalizing their culture make the trip aboard replicas of ancient canoes and use the navigational techniques of their ancestors.

A sailor shares his sailing experience with an old sailor, whom he called a sea dog. Although he considered himself young and irresponsible at that time, he felt proud not only about his basic sailing qualities but also about being with the old seadog.
