Article Abstract:

Expedient and thorough reporting of nutritional supplement side effects is important to maintaining the health of athletes and other individuals who exercise. Advances in nutritional biotechnology has fostered the rapid development of new supplements, providing a challenging pace for scientific research on the short- and long-term physiological effects of such supplements.

Eating pattern and nutritional status of international elite flatwater paddlers

Article Abstract:

This study investigates the nutritional status and eating habits of flatwater paddlers from the Spanish National Team during a week of intense training. Results indicate that dietary fat and protein intake exceeded recommended levels, but there were no significant effects on the athletes' blood lipid levels.

Diet and short term plasma lipoprotein-lipid changes after exercise in trained men

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of diet and aerobic exercise on lipoproteins and blood lipids in trained men. Results indicate that diet composition had no effect on lipid response, but one exercise session decreased total cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol.
