Some of the fishing and hunting highlights in the lower Midwestern states are described, along with various public land areas in the region. The plains and prairie states of the Midwest offer a variety of fish and game, ranging from bluegill, to ringneck pheasants, to whitetail deer.

Article Abstract:

The Clean Water Act of 1972, and other environmental efforts, have helped retain the walleye populations in various urban areas. Excellent walleye fisheries exist in many sections of the upper Midwest, such as St Paul, MN; Toledo, OH; Detroit, MI; Green Bay, WI; and Saginaw, MI.
