Knowing the distances between turning points and the courses makes navigating a channel easier. These helpful statistics can be listed on a card. A sample card lists aids to navigation, their characteristics, new courses at turns, and the length of new legs.

Getting through VHF clutter

Article Abstract:

Digital Selective Calling will be a standard feature on VHF-FM radios and marine HF radios by 1997. The system will use channel 70 to send signals directly to the receiving boat.
