Muscle function at the wrist after eccentric exercise

Article Abstract:

This article discusses an experiment designed to test the effects of eccentric exercises on the wrist flexor muscles. Results showed that strenous eccentric exercises by wrist extensors effected the motor control and function of those muscles, especially during contractions in which high torque was needed, and increased coactivation in the antagonistic wrist flexors occurred after eccentric exercises.

Passive energy return after repeated stretches of the hamstring muscle-tendon unit

Article Abstract:

This study evaluated the effectiveness of a static stretching protocol for the hamstring muscle-tendon unit. Results indicate that three repeated static stretches lasting 45 seconds each had no measurable effects on the viscoelastic and passive properties of the hamstring muscle-tendon unit.

Effect of testosterone administration and weight training on muscle architecture

Article Abstract:

Results show that heavy resistance training coupled with testosterone enanthate intake leads to changes in the muscle architecture. Data indicate that the strength gain by the treated subjects may be due to changes in both pennation and fascicle length.
