Article Abstract:

Ceci St. Geme is a busy mother of three children, with a fourth on the way, and also a runner who is determined to qualify for the 1996 Olympics. St. Geme stopped running competitively in 1987, but staged a comeback after having her third child, and won the 5,000 meters USATF Championship in 1994.

Hickman has risen from mediocrity to become the best road racer in the US. She is the first American woman to win the Bolder Boulder 10-K since 1983. Turning 30 in 1995 made her realize that her prime years were waning and that she had to excel.
