Metabolic reaction after concentric and eccentric endurance-exercise of the knee and ankle

Article Abstract:

This article compares the metabolic and physiological effects of concentric and eccentric endurance exercise tests involving the ankle and knee. Findings indicate that the eccentric exercise tests result in lower ammonia and lactate reactions, reduced fatigue, and less metabolic stress than comparable concentric exercise tests.

Reciprocal strength ratio in shoulder abduction/adduction in sports and daily living

Article Abstract:

Results suggest that shoulder stress in everyday living and sports causes stress-specific changes in terms of strength ratio of shoulder abduction/adduction called "muscular dysbalances". Age- and sex-specific relationships of the observed changes are discussed.
