Government authorities officially deny the existence of mountain lions in the northeast, in spite of scientific evidence. Sightings have been reported in Connecticut, Vermont, Maine, and Canada. Authorities believe the cougars have been released into the wild, and are not part of a breeding population.

Falconers face rigorous training and must pass a written test before they can become apprentices. Falcons must be trapped in the wild and trained and exercised daily during the late fall and winter of the falconry season. The equipment required is expensive, but it is wonderful to watch the birds.
