Six popular recreational models of life rafts, which are the most important piece of safety equipment, are tested for their working capability and the actual use of them. Each raft is evaluated for ease of use, clarity of instructions, construction quality, interior volume, floor system, canopy effectiveness and comprehensiveness of included survival gear.

A test sail of a new Leopard 40 cruising cat, built by Morrelli & Melvin, the American design firm, is presented. The interior is as well thought out as the sailing systems and the starboard hull is dedicated to an owner's cabin, and the port hull houses two guest cabins.
