The basics of intake flow in a four-stroke motorcycle engine are discussed. The key in filling cylinders lies in shifting energy from the piston to high-speed airflow entering the cylinder, then using it to supercharge the cylinder, yielding higher volumetric efficiency and increased power.

World Superbike looks to lower costs

The organizers of the World Superbike competition has announced a new technical rule that limits the equipment to be used on a motorcycle. Under the new rule, machine equipment will be limited to $40,000. The rule is expected to take effect by the year 2001.
