Inspiratory strengthening effect on resistive load detection and magnitude estimation

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of a four-week inspiratory muscle training protocol on load detection, maximal inspiratory pressure, and magnitude estimation in untrained subjects. Results indicate that gains in inspiratory muscle strength due to training decreased subjects' ability to accurately perceive load magnitudes without changing load detection ability.

Gender differences in the fatigability of the inspiratory muscles

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine whether gender differences are present in the fatigability of the inspiratory muscles of humans. The results provide evidence that the fatigability of the inspiratory muscles was different between genders and females demonstrated lower rate of fatigue as well as less muscle fatigue at task failure than males.

Exercise training increases creatine kinase capacity in canine myocardium

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of an aerobic training program on the concentrations of creatine kinase and associated isoenzymes in canine myocardium. Results indicate that physical training increased total creatine kinase activity and isoenzyme content in the left ventricle myocardium, but did not affect the right ventricular system.
