Ice fishing requires no special equipment or strategy, and the cold weather limits reflection, but the thought of finding food beneath the stillness of a frozen lake can be exciting, and the time can be filled with snow play or skating. A fisher describes how he tried to catch large walleyes on Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota. He only caught some small walleyes, but he saw one fisher who caught the limit of eight-pound walleyes. Two other fishers spent more than two hours battling with a large fish, but the fish got away.
