Etiologic factors associated with anterior knee pain in distance runners
Article Abstract:
This study uses videography, an isokinetic dynamometer, and a force platform to investigate biomechanical factors related to anterior knee pain and injuries in long-distance runners. Results indicate that foot arch, extension peak torque, shoe mileage, and pronation are the strongest predictors of anterior knee pain in active runners.

Knee biomechanics of the dynamic squat exercise
Article Abstract:
This article evaluates the usefulness of squat exercises as a part of a knee rehabilitation or athletic training regimen. Biomechanical analyses indicate that squat exercises have no adverse effects on knee stability, cause low to moderate shear forces, and help to improve musculature in the knee, hip, and ankle.
