Effects of exercise and insulin on insulin signaling proteins in human skeletal muscle

Article Abstract:

The effects of exercise and insulin on early insulin receptor signaling in muscle are sharply contrasting. While insulin in the body activated the insulin signaling cascade within thirty minutes, moderate exercise decreased insulin receptor phosphorylation without activating insulin signaling. Exercise did increase glucose disposal and activated glycogen synthase more efficiently than insulin.

Diclofenac sodium (Voltaren) reduced exercise-induced injury in human skeletal muscle

Article Abstract:

Diclofenac sodium can reduce muscle injury from eccentric exercise, according to a study of 54 people. Muscle biopsies showed less damage in those who took the drug compared to placebo, and they also had lower creatine kinase levels.
