Effects of cysteine donor supplementation on exercise-induced bronchoconstriction

Article Abstract:

A study examined the effects of supplementation with undenatured whey protein (UWP) in subjects exhibiting airway narrowing following eucapnic voluntary hyperventilation, a surrogate challenge for diagnosis of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB). Results conclude that UWP might augment pulmonary antioxidant capacity and be therapeutically beneficial in individual's exhibiting EIB as postchallenge pulmonary function improved with supplementation.
