The current status, performances and prospects of top men and wome tennis players were evaluated. Among the top players are Thomas Muster, Berasategui, Bruguera, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, Steffi Graf and Conchita Martinez. The European players are expected to provide stiff competition to US players since the Americans are not used to clay courts.

Bring back small tournaments

Article Abstract:

A mini-tour composed of one-week events held at small-site venues could help provide tennis with the charm and intimacy that big events today so sorely lack. Such a tour would help revitalize the game and draw back fans nostalgic for the up-close intimacy of tennis before it became overly commercialized.

Larsson's cup runneth over
