Changes in resting metabolic rate and substrate oxidation after 16 months of exercise training in overweight adults

Article Abstract:

The effects of sixteen months moderate intensity exercise training changes resting metabolic rate and substrate oxidation in overweight young adults is presented. It was seen that women have greater fax oxidation than men when expressed per kilogram fat-free mass.

Glycogen replenishment and repeated maximal effort exercise: effect of liquid carbohydrate

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the effects of carbohydrate ingestion on glycogen replenishment and subsequent short duration, high intensity exercise performance are discussed. Muscle tissue collected before and after the cycling test was analyzed for glycogen concentration, and data indicated that the decrease in performance of the placebo group did not result from a difference in glycogen concentration.
