Can you trust your doctor?

Article Abstract:

The growing use of managed care organizations to provide health care may erode patients' trust in their doctors as well as limit the types or amount of treatment a doctor can provide. Patients are advised not to assume that a doctor is always right or wrong, but to cultivate a relationship that allows good communication.

Research indicates that low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) is as effective as standard heparin in treating deep-vein thrombosis. LMWH has the advantages of reducing the length of hospital stays and not requiring constant monitoring. It can also be self-injected.
