Article Abstract:

An overview is provided of the skiing that is available at the Canadian ski resort town of Fernie, in British Columbia's Lizard Range. In 1996, Fernie was bought out by ski resort developer Charlie Locke, who developed the area in such a way that is has been named the coolest place in North America.

Kelly's last ride

Article Abstract:

On January 20, 2003 an avalanche on Selkirk Mountain in British Columbia killed seven skiers, including professional snow boarder Craig Kelly. Only five people out of the 70 total deaths caused by avalanches over the past five winters in Canada have been while guided by commercial operations.
