Big Spring

Article Abstract:

The Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection agreed with Fly Fisherman articles of Feb 1999 and May 2001, and withdrew the operating permit of the state's trout hatchery on Big Spring Creek. The hatchery was polluting the creek and had nearly destroyed the wild trout habitat.

The Clarion River revived

Article Abstract:

The two branches of the Clarion River rise in northwestern Pennsylvania's Allegheny National Forest region. Nutria nymph flies, mayflies, and and Coffin flies are readily struck by sizeable brown trout.
