26 Reasons to Love Boston

Article Abstract:

The Boston Marathon is in its 103rd year, and is still the favorite marathon for thousands of runners. It is the world's oldest continuously held marathon, and has strict qualifying standards. Some of the things that make the Boston Marathon special are the expo that offers race memorabilia and a place for getting autographs, the tradition of Wellesley College women lining 'the gauntlet' and cheering on runners, and the challenge of Heartbreak Hill.

A marathon effort

Article Abstract:

A woman recalls the physical difficulties she underwent while participating in marathon sponsored by the Leukemia Society to raise funds. Although her body ached from various wounds, she found strength to continue by keeping in mind the plight of a young leukemia patient.

A man for all reasons

Article Abstract:

Dave Dunham of Londonderry, NH, is one of the most versatile runners anywhere and excels on all kinds of tracks and distances. He finished 20th at the US Olympic marathon trials and won the Rocket City Marathon in Alabama in Dec 1992. His training regimen is described.
