Chesapeake Bay retrievers are dogs that were bred to be working and hunting dogs. The retrievers can figure out how to hunt ducks by themselves. The dogs often surprise their owners with their tenacity and natural abilities. Owners of the dogs love to tell stories about them and their exploits.

Down the ice dome: Frederic Baker climbed a glacier, hoping to find a herd of goats; what he found was a brush with death

Article Abstract:

One hunter discovered the dangerous side of mountain goat hunting when he slipped on the side of a glacier. He landed in a pool of muddy glacier water, but was able to swim back to the edge of the rocks. He developed a lot more respect for glaciers.
