Article Abstract:
ScubaLab conducted an experiment to test the quality and efficiency of 14 scuba fins priced under $100. The attributes tested were flexibility, channeling, power, stability, snap and lack of interference. ScubaLab's top choice were IDI Power Fin, Mares Rapida and Scubapro Lightning Jet, with Genesis Aquaflex, IDI Frog Foot and TUSA Cetus tied in second place. However, when price and performance were considered the six scuba fins also qualified with IDI Power Fin at the top followed by Scubapro Lightning Jet then TUSA Cetus.

Article Abstract:
Twenty techniques, believed to improve the performance of scuba fins and swimming, were presented. The techniques presented were related to the correct way of swimming with fins. They are kicking frequency, peak efficiency, increased demands for more speed or power, wobbling of fins, use of dry suits, correct size, lesser interference, power strokes, the correct leg bend, smaller size and greater flexibility, gender adaptability and surface swimming.

RSD's ScubaLab tested almost 50 regulators of 33 different models to come up with the 27 best regulators. Testing was done using two breathing machines at different water depths. Controlled ocean tests were also performed by several divers. Regulators exhibiting the best performance include the Aqua Lung Micra Adjustable, Beuchat VX4 Evolution and VX 10 Evolution and the Oceanic Delta II Balanced Piston.
