10 Great Rivers: The Upper Sacramento River

A fishing trip to California's Upper Sacramento River in Northern California is described. This area of California is very different from it's southern neighborhood of Disneyland and lattes. The 14,162-foot Mount Shasta is one of the area's symbols, along with the great river.

Article Abstract:

Many dry fly fishermen scoff at nymph fishing, considering it too easy. Nymph fishing is harder to master, however, and does not work when executed improperly. Nymph fishing can result in catching larger fish. Technique is described.
