The impact of business-to-business electronic commerce on the dynamics of metropolitan spaces

Article Abstract:

The impact of business-to-business (B2B) electronic commerce (EC) on the metropolitan and regional economy of Korea is examined. The results indicate that B2B EC is contributing to increased long distance transaction works, but these networks converge only into selected innovation centers or dominant industrial clusters.

Digital divide in Internet use within the urban hierarchy: The case of South Korea

Article Abstract:

A digital divide of in the Internet use from a geographical perspective is examined. The activities performed online were analyzed in Korea. It was observed that netizens living in other parts out of Seoul (the capital of Korea) had relatively lower rates of engagement on the Internet.

An overview is presented on the financial crisis in Asia and its impact on attitudes toward and capacities for urban development. It is posited that the crisis may foster resistance to development, as fiscal problems have emphasized the negative aspects of rapid globalization.
