Article Abstract:
Gambling and alcohol use are prevalent in youth and such behaviours have common predictors in four areas, sociodemographic, individual/psychological, socialization and other problem behavior. Studies looked at alcohol consumption and gambling frequency amongst youth in the Buffalo, NY area. Impulsivity, moral disengagement and delinquency were found to predict alcohol consumption and gambling, even when controlled for demographic factors.

Article Abstract:
Mild-severe, moderate-severe, mild-moderate-severe and severe progressions of cocaine use were studied in men who were Veterans in the context of their psychosocial functioning. There was a marked difference in dealing with unpleasant emotions, depression and somatic anxiety but no noticeable variation in sensation seeking, somatization, obsessive compulsiveness. The results of the study will be useful for treatment.

Article Abstract:
Cocaine abuse patients took part in a reaction time (RT) experiment to determine the ability of subjects to move their attention away from cocaine related words. Post experiment craving was positively linked with reaction times on drug related cues, compared to RT on neutral cues. The experiment reveals the individual differences on information processing within a cocaine abuse patient population.
