Cognitive versus behavioral treatment of concurrent alcohol dependence and agoraphobia: A pilot study

Article Abstract:

A behavioral treatment (BT), consisting of five sessions treating alcohol dependence and five sessions treating panic disorder with agoraphobia, was compared to a cognitive treatment (CT) that addressed the dysfunctional cognitions mediating the alcohol problem and anxiety symptoms. The results stated that no differences occurred between a primarily BT and a primarily CT on any of the alcohol variables during treatment and a 1-year follow-up.

Self-reported motivations to change and self-efficacy levels for a group of recidivist drink drivers

Article Abstract:

An examination is conducted on a group of 132 recidivist offenders' stages of change and self-efficacy levels for changing and controlling both their drinking and drink driving behaviors. Examination of the self-reported frequency of drink driving revealed that both motivations and self-efficacy levels are predictors of past offences and future intentions to drink and drive.

Node-link-mapping-enhanced group treatment for pathological gambling

Article Abstract:

The node-link-mapping, a visual representation technique allows simultaneous representations of multiple relations, modulating influences, along with short-and long-term behavioral outcomes. The results indicate that measures of depression and anxiety are sensitive to improved functioning, produced by mapping-enhanced treatment.
