Article Abstract:

Attachment theory of men and women describes that the systematic changes should be most evident across stressful life transition. An analysis on this attachment between men and women, after the women entered parenthood, reveals the need to extend the research in novel directions.

An introduction to a motivational approach to ingroup favoritism based on regulatory focus theory (RFT) is given. It is suggested that if an individual self-categorizes as a group member, resource allocations to one's group would be based on the mechanisms of self-regulation.
