Article Abstract:
Response acquisition with delayed reinforcement is more likely to occur at rat body weights that are lower percentages of ad libitum weights. The subsequent response maintenance with delayed reinforcement is less reliably related to body weight. Faster acquisition occurs by reducing body weight during magazine training, inspite of increase in body weight before exposure to the delayed reinforcement procedure. New behavior with delayed reinforcement can be established without magazine training, but acquisition occurs faster with the training, especially at lower body weights.

Article Abstract:
Research shows that response-independent food reduced response rates vary in relation to negatively accelerated response patterns. Key pecking patterns in White Carneau pigeons were observed during reinforcement experiments using limited food supply. Response rates using concurrent schedules are given.

Experiment with rats in that responses on the functional lever produced reinforcers after a delay period, which reset after each response during the delay. Results suggested that responding generally tracked the response-reinforcer contingency.
