Article Abstract:

This article examines the persuasiveness of the media in influencing citizens' preferences regarding two forms of crime policies: preventive and punitive. The author, focusing on individual media use, argues individuals who are exposed to complex media content prefer preventive crime measures, whereas individuals who tend to watch simple infotainment formats prefer punitive crime measures.
